Why is the serial number necessary?
Different use of materials, model year or equipped with other options; every machine is different. In order to find the right parts, it is therefore necessary in most cases to have the serial number of your John Deere machine in addition to the type.
John Deere tractors
On John Deere tractors you can read the serial number on the right side of the chassis above the front axle. In addition to a identification tag, a sticker has also been applied by the dealer with all serial numbers. The location of this sticker differs per tractor (the dealer determines this himself). Places where the sticker is often placed: radiator, inside engine cover or on the dashboard column.
John Deere turf machines
With the turf machines it differs where the plate is mounted. If the plate is not located on the right side of the chassis above the front axle, it may be located at the rear, on the inside of the rear fenders (left side), on the dashboard column or under the seat. Can't find the identification tag? Please contact us and we will be happy to help you!
John Deere Gators
On the John Deere Gators, the identification tag can always be found on the rear of the machine or on the right-hand side between the wheel and the bucket.
Once you have found the serial number of your John Deere machine, you can find the part you need in the John Deere Parts Catalog (see also our blog here for further explanation).
